Meet the Owners

Jeremy and Leah Schapiro, Owners, are thrilled to be back in Wisconsin and excited to engage in the Fox Cities community.

Jeremy brings his three years of Fleet Feet Sports management expertise to the new Fleet Feet Sports Fox Valley. He has considered graduating from running the half marathon distance events to a future marathon, but in the meantime enjoys selecting races based on the crazy race shirts.

Leah began her involvement with Fleet Feet Sports nearly 12 years ago as a volunteer and active member of her local running community. Seven-time marathon finisher and three-time Ironman, she's looking forward to stepping off the road and onto the shoe floor to trade experiences and ideas.

Stop in, say hello, and let Leah and Jeremy show you around the new store!

Meet Our Team

Training Project Coordinator & Newest Team Member BRIAN EPLEY...spends most of his time devoted to his two wonderful boys and beautiful wife. In his remaining free moments Brian enjoys home improvement projects and satisfying his inner-geek’s craving for tech news and gear. Oh yeah, and running, he does that too.

Fondest Running Memory: Around mile 24 of his first marathon when his IT bands both quit. His dad walked the last two miles with him.

Favorite Distance: Brian has a love-hate relationship with the marathon.

Advice: "You don’t have to outrun the bear, just your running partner."

RYAN HOP...is new to the area, and when he is not at work he and his wife I love to travel throughout Wisconsin to see what it has to offer, including going to every brewery. They figured that was a good starting place.

Fondest Running Memory: Cross Country camp in high school. We would spend a week running the trails and dunes of the Lake Michigan Shore in Northern Michigan. If there was ever a runner’s heaven, this was it!

Favorite Distance: 5K! I love the speed of the race, but also the amount of endurance you need to finish strong. I believe it is the perfect distance for me.

Advice: "Don’t worry…There is always someone faster than you. Just enjoy the run!"

JULIE HINKENS…is a busy mom of two brilliant boys; ages 10 and 12. She keeps busy running them from basketball games/practice...to cheering on her #1 football coach: Dave, headcoach of the XAVIER Hawks! In her free time she enjoys running, exercising, and always using her creative energy to express herself through drawing, painting, and creating jewelry.

Fondest Running Memory: Seeing her family cheering her on just before she ran through Lambeau field at the Green Bay Cellcom Half Marathon

Favorite Event: Bellin 10K and Seymour’s Bun Run

Advice: “Simple joy of living with a grateful heart”

BRENDA KASTEN…is a recent graduate of Carroll University with a BS in Exercise Science. When she's not working, she enjoys running, strength training and helping others achieve their fitness/running goals. She also loves scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends!

Fondest Running Memory: Running her first marathon (Cellcom GB) in 2008 & finishing in under 4 hours

Favorite Event: Cellcom Green Bay Marathon festivities and the 5K Sausage Race at Miller Park

Advice: “Stretch, foam roll, and listen to your body/mind!!”

Favorite Event: the Cross Country 8K

Advice: “Don’t forget to have fun”

RHEA KRATZER...is a mom, a wife, and a four-time Ironman finisher. During her ‘spare time’, she can be found sewing, running, biking, swimming, lifting, cross-county skiing, or hiking (Nordic walking).

Fondest Triathlon Memory: Ironman Wisconsin 2008, when, towards the end of the race, she was surrounded by friends encouraging her to go ‘just a little faster’ so she could break 13 hours!

Favorite Event: the Ironman

Advice: “Race your own race and always be true to yourself”

AARON MINZLAFF...is a stay-at-home dad blessed w/ 2 beautiful children and a wonderful wife. He spends most of his time changing his son's diapers, chasing his 2-yr old daughter, and at the end of the night falling asleep in front of the TV w/ his wife. In his free time you will find him running, biking, and working on remodeling projects around the house.

Fondest Running Memory: He and his dad finishing their first half marathon, the Fox Cities, together.

Favorite Distance: The North Face Endurance Challenge trail race @ Kettle Moraine State Park.

Advice: “Slow down your pace and take time to enjoy the small things in life. Those are what you will remember (or miss) the most when you’re crossing the finish line.”

TYLER MOREY...Besides training hard for the next competitive season in college, Tyler loves to travel all over the US and the world. He also enjoys hanging out with the friends around a good bonfire.

Fondest Running Memory: Surprising himself and the field by placing 6th as a sophomore at the WIAA State Track & Field 3200 with a 17 second PR (Personal Record) of 9:30:08!

Favorite Distance: 3K Steeplechase

Advice: “Don’t let external pressures of time/place affect your internal love of running.”

BRIAN PETERSON...can generally be found either running or hanging out with friends. Brian’s friends are teammates (at UW Oshkosh) so they are always together.

Fondest Running Memory: Senior year state track in high school, Brian was not considered by some to be a title treat but entered the 3200 and ended up winning with a ten second window.

Favorite Distance: 1500 or 5K (3.1 miles)

Advice: “Keep it fun. When it stops being fun and turns into a ‘job’, that’s when things go wrong.”
